Whats New?

I've added this Whats New page so no one thinks I've vanished off the face of the web! The Shay series is stuck in limbo for the moment. I started a new story and worked on it for quite some time. The problem was that I never really liked it from the beginning. I forced myself to keep at it certian it would get better. Well, it didn't! As a result I've set it all aside for a while. In the meantime I've been working on a short story called Betewen Heaven and Earth as well as a few others. I've also taken up the responsibilities for the Forever Knight Fan Fiction Web Ring which has kept me busy for the past week! Keep checking back, I promise more eventually!

I suppose it's pretty sad when every your "Whats New" page is ancient! I really hadn't realized how long it has been since I've even looked at my web page. I would like to be able to promise that it won't be so long next time but I won't make any promises I can't keep. So much has changed since I last tended to this site. The Shay series that I left hanging so long ago has severly suffered from my lack of attention. The whole story that had once been fairly well outlined in my mind has largely faded away. I found myself stuck on which direction to take it so I put it aside. In the meantime, I quit my job as a 911 operator/dispatcher in June of 2001 to become a police officer. Up until that point, I was blessed to be able to do the majority of my writing at work. After I graduated from the academy, it took quite a while for me to settle into my new career. The academy itself takes a lot out of you and being a "rookie" on the force isn't any less draining. Now that I've finally begun to feel a little more comfortable with my job I have began to think about writing again although I don't have anything on the drawing board.I work the night shift in a small town which, espically in the winter months, leaves me with a lot of down time. Unfortunatly, I don't have access to a computer during those quite hours so working on any stories has to be done when I'm not working and that simply hasn't happened. But, we are scheduled to get laptops in our patrol cars in January! Assuming this actually happens, I plan to get back to work on something even if it's not my Shay series. So, don't give up on me just yet and check back soon. As I said, I won't promise I'll come up with anything, but I do promise I'll try!
